Lisa is an actress, audio drama director and photographer.

Trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and working extensively in theatre, TV and radio – she’s diversified over the years into photography and directing for audio drama.

Lisa’s appeared in a wide range of theatre and television productions, played a regular character in the first two series of BBC’s Casualty, been an alien in BBC’s Doctor Who – and has recently been recognised as heading up the longest running female lead drama series in any medium – having played the eponymous heroine Bernice Summerfield in the Doctor Who spin-off series The Adventures of Professor Bernice Summerfield, for Big Finish audio, for 27 years.

Acting

NEWS – Lisa can currently be seen as Maria Blix in the new Disney+ series The Stolen Girl (produced by Quay Street Productions) The last radio she was heard in was The Archers (BBC Radio 4) as returning character Julianne Wright – and also on BBC Sounds in Archive on 4: Disgusted –  Mary Whitehouse, as Mary Whitehouse. Produced by Samira Ahmed and Simon & Thomas Guerrier for Whistledown Productions. More recent theatre work includes the revival of the political play Maggie & Ted at both the Garrick Theatre, London and Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford. She continues (after 27 years) to play Doctor Who’s Professor Bernice Summerfield, in the audio series of the same name for Big Finish Productions, which has now been acknowledged as the longest running female lead drama series in any medium.

Lisa is also a prolific audio drama director, working mainly for Big Finish Productions. Recent work has included Doctor Who: Early Adventures, Companion Chronicles & Short Trips, and the series Susan’s War and Doctor Who: Wicked Sisters, The Worlds of Blake’s 7  and many stories in the Torchwood monthly range.  Other series she has directed include Sapphire & Steel, Graceless (also broadcast on Radio 4 Extra),  Blake’s 7, and 13 series of  Jago & Litefoot.She also directed The Coming of the Martians, an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ The War of  the Worlds, with Colin Morgan & Ronald Pickup, for Sherwood Sound Studios and When Michael Met Benny (about the unlikely meeting between Michael Jackson and Benny Hill), and an adaptation of Dickens’ The Chimes, starring Toby Jones  both for Average Romp Productions.

Lisa is also a professional photographer, and has been in business for well over three decades.  Specialising in Spotlight head-shots and production photographs as well as other commissions.
